MSC

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an international non-profit organization committed to protecting oceans and safeguarding fish stocks through sustainable fishing practices.

MSC works to promote sustainable fisheries worldwide, prevent overfishing, and reduce the environmental impact of fishing on marine ecosystems, helping to ensure healthy oceans for future generations.

Seafood products carrying the blue MSC label come from independently certified fisheries that meet strict sustainability standards. This means they are sourced from well-managed, non-overfished fish stocks and have been caught with consideration for the marine environment.

ASC

Today, aquaculture provides more than half of the fish and seafood consumed worldwide and has been the fastest-growing food production sector for the past 40 years. As the global population continues to grow, aquaculture will remain an important source of food.

The ASC Chain of Custody certification and the ASC Label Licence Agreement allow certified companies to use the ASC label on their products. This ensures traceability throughout the supply chain, helps prevent seafood fraud, and assures consumers that the seafood originates from responsibly managed, ASC-certified farms. Dolphin Safe

The Dolphin Safe seal is part of the International Marine Mammal Project of the "Earth Island Institute" charity. It is committed to ensuring that no dolphins are endangered, threatened or even killed in any way during tuna fishing.

The reason for this is that huge schools of tuna swimming in the sea are very frequently accompanied by large groups of dolphins, which are endangered or even killed if the wrong, unauthorised fishing methods are used. If a tinned tuna has the following seal, it contributes to the protection of dolphins.

Global Gap

The GGN label is a cross-category consumer label for fruit, vegetables, farmed fish and seafood, flowers, and plants from GLOBALG.A.P.-certified production processes. Products bearing the GGN label come from producers that have been independently certified according to GLOBALG.A.P. standards. These internationally recognized standards are designed to promote responsible farming practices, with a focus on food safety, environmental protection, workers’ health, safety and welfare, animal health and welfare, and supply chain transparency.

All products carrying the GGN label feature a 13-digit traceability code, enabling consumers to access the profile of the respective producer or trader through the GGN Label Portal. This provides greater transparency and helps connect consumers directly with the origin of their products. For more information, please visit: ggn.org
